Sometimes you just need a sweet treat that feels a little indulgent and, of course, chocolatey, but doesn’t throw your macros out the window. These easy chocolate keto fat bombs are exactly that kind of snack. They’re rich, chewy, coco-nutty, chocolatey, peanut buttery, and come together in under 15 minutes—no baking, no mess, no guilt.

When I’m doing keto, I’m never without a fat bomb of some kind in the fridge or freezer. That’s because I know how all that high healthy fat and protein in there can keep me going between meals, fast, or replenish me after a hard workout.

When I’m working with clients who are struggling to find satisfying desserts on a low-carb diet, this is one of my go-to recommendations. They’re made with wholesome ingredients like all-natural peanut butter, cocoa powder, coconut oil, and just a splash of heavy cream—and they hit that perfect balance of creamy, chewy, and just-sweet-enough to really satisfy.

Flavor-wise, they really deliver. The cocoa powder brings a deep, dark chocolate note that’s bold without being bitter, and the peanut butter adds just the right touch of salt and roasted nuttiness to round it out. Shredded coconut gives them a subtle sweetness and a little texture, while the coconut oil helps everything melt on your tongue in the most luscious way. The heavy cream smooths it all out, adding richness and a velvety mouthfeel that makes each bite taste extra decadent—like a truffle from a fancy candy shop, but without all that sugar.

Ways to level up your chocolate keto fat bombs

These keto chocolate fat bombs are fantastic straight from the fridge, but they’re also incredibly easy to personalize. Want more texture? Fold in some chopped walnuts or pecans for a satisfying crunch. Prefer a different nut butter flavor? Swap the peanut butter for another keto-friendly nut or seed butter—like almond, cashew, or sunflower. For an extra layer of richness and flavor, roll the finished bombs in hemp seeds, more cocoa powder, or some powdered erythritol for extra sweetness. And if you’re really craving something decadent, serve them with a small bowl of dark chocolate ganache for dipping. (Yes—dark chocolate can be very keto-friendly when you choose the right one.) These keep well for parties and are easy to make ahead. For party platters, I like to pair them with fresh raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries. That pop of bright fruit flavor is the perfect contrast to the deep, fudgy chocolate. Whether you’re trying to kick sugar cravings or need a satisfying treat to keep you focused and fueled, these fat bombs don’t mess around.

How do I store leftovers?

Fat bombs are made to be stored and enjoyed over time. You can store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container up to 2 weeks. You can also make these ahead and freeze them. To do this, first flash freeze these on a baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes to ensure they are chilled and set. Then, place fat bombs in freezer storage bags, as many as you like to a bag, and ensure all air is pushed out. Now, you can enjoy your chocolate fat bombs up to 3 months. Simply thaw on the counter when you’re ready to eat them for 3 to 5 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-natural peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon keto-friendly sweetener
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons heavy cream
  • 2–3 tablespoons cocoa powder adjust to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add the ingredients into the bowl of your food processor. Blend until completely smooth and formed into a ball.
  • Scoop about two tablespoons of the mix into your hand and roll into a smaller ball.
  • Roll each ball in coconut and keep refrigerated in an airtight container.

      You can use unsweetened cocoa powder (2–3 tbsp as per recipe) or substitute with ¼ cup melted dark chocolate (85% cocoa or higher).

    I think you forgot to include the cocoa powder in the recipe ingredients and text write-up as there is no mention of it anywhere despite appearing in the picture and the title.

    Did I miss the chocolate in the recipe? The pics look amazing, but I’m not sure how the fat bombs became so “chocolatey” brown without that vital ingredient!

      The cocoa powder is listed in the ingredients, so that’s what gives them the rich chocolate color. You can adjust it to taste for more or less intensity!
