Indulge in this crispy, golden-brown side that’s both savory and sweet.

Nine times out of ten, if I’m having a burger, I’ll pair it with sweet potato fries. There are few combos more satisfying to me than a juicy burger and crispy sweet potato fries with honey-mustard for dipping. But the fun doesn’t stop there! With a beautiful balance of onion, garlic, paprika, and parsley, these air-fryer sweet potato fries go great with all kinds of main dishes, from meat-based to vegetarian.

When I first made sweet potato fries, it was in an oven. But the air fryer produces a crispier fry in less time! I was relieved by this because I had been struggling for a while to get just the right balance of crispy outside and tender inside. Now, each bite is so satisfying, it reminds me of the fancy sweet potato fries I used to get at my favorite local restaurant. All in the comfort of my own home. And yes, my loved ones are huge fans as well.

How to grow your own sweet potatoes

A while back, I got on a gardening kick, desiring to grow my own sweet potatoes from the ground up. When I learned that all I needed to do was sprout a sweet potato from the store and use that as a slip to plant more, I was mindblown. The best way to sprout a sweet potato is by letting it sit in moist soil (the better option) or water. Once the sprouts grow roots, they become slips, and can be easily planted in moist soil to produce sweet potatoes around a hundred days later.

How do I store leftovers?

Let your sweet potato fries cool to room temperature, and then transfer them to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Or you can freeze them for up to 3 months, before popping them in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes, until they’re hot and crispy again.

Similar recipes to try

Think sweet potato fries are unusual? Just wait ’til you try Keto Radish French Fries or Air-Fryer Zucchini Chips, which put a whole new twist on classic diner sides. And if you’re craving some protein to go with your fries, try Low-Carb Crispy Keto Chicken Wings or Keto Mozzarella Cheese Sticks. But then there are times when I prefer to replace crispy fried sides with something light and refreshing, like Healthy Broccoli Slaw or Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad. Those can be just as lovely!
