Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 8 slices thin bacon
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Trim the green beans and blanch them for 2 minutes. Immediately transfer them to an ice bath and then pat dry with a clean towel.
  • Lay out the bacon slices and place a small bundle of green beans (about 10 beans) on each slice. Roll the bacon around the beans to form a tight bundle.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Arrange the bacon-wrapped green bean bundles on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan and mix in the light brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Brush the mixture evenly over the bundles, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the bacon is crisp and the beans are tender. Serve warm.
