Creamy and rich, this Keto Hot Chocolate is perfect for the holidays and has a healthy twist!

Every year, on the first Saturday in December, my family and I look forward to a special tradition: cookie baking day! Wearing our silliest Christmas sweaters, we head into our cozy kitchen and spend the whole day baking batch after batch of holiday treats to fill our cookie jars and share with friends and family. Holiday music plays in the background, and, of course, there are always mugs of rich hot chocolate to sip on in between all the baking fun.
Last year, I was inspired to tweak my usual recipe by swapping the cocoa powder for chocolate collagen, and the results were amazing! Why use chocolate collagen instead of cocoa powder, you ask? Well, the brand I used (Further Food Chocolate Collagen Peptides) packs 18 grams of protein into just one cup. That means I get all the benefits of collagen (supporting joints, bones, muscles, and even skin health) in the form of a sweet treat. The hot chocolate still turns out just as thick, rich, and decadent as ever—only with an added healthy twist! What’s not to love?

Personalize your keto hot cocoa
Personally, I love to tweak my hot chocolate, sometimes with a splash of peppermint, almond, or orange extract, other times by serving it up in a fun way, like topping it with whipped cream and a sprinkle of finely crushed sugar-free candy canes. Those little touches can make this classic holiday drink even more festive.
One of my absolute favorite flavor combinations in the world, though, is chocolate and raspberry. Have you ever had a raspberry hot chocolate? It’s divine! To make it keto-friendly, just stir a little sugar-free raspberry syrup into your hot cocoa, then crown with some whipped cream, and garnish with a few freeze-dried raspberries. Not only does it taste incredible, but it looks beautiful, too—like something you’d order at a café, only healthier and probably much more affordable!

How do I store leftovers?
This keto hot chocolate comes together in the blink of an eye and is best enjoyed fresh. You can, however, let it cool and store it in the fridge in an airtight container or thermos for up to 24 hours. Reheat it gently on the stove when ready to enjoy again.
